About
I am Vijay Kumar Kodam, a Principal Engineer in Cloud Technology at Nokia. I design and operate large-scale platforms on AWS and Kubernetes, and I build AI systems on them: LLM inference on EKS, and agents that help run the platform itself. I am authorized to work across the EU.
My work spans deep telecom engineering and cloud-native architecture. I started out building software for 2G CDMA systems, moved on to 3G 1x-EVDO RNC solutions, and then to deploying 4G and 5G Virtual Network Functions on Telco Cloud using AWS, containers, and Kubernetes. Today I am the platform owner for a private 5G platform on Amazon EKS, running in five regions across three continents and serving thousands of edge sites. Day to day that is cloud architecture, SRE, DevOps, GitOps, and systems design.
Focus areas
- Kubernetes and Amazon EKS. Building scalable, resilient, cloud-native platforms and running them in production.
- AWS cloud architecture and systems design. Leading end-to-end migrations and the operations that keep them healthy.
- Generative AI and agentic systems. Agents, MCP, agent harnesses and coding CLIs, local inference, and an AI-assisted development lifecycle. What started as after-hours work is now part of my day job as well as the projects I ship here.

- Certifications. Certified Kubernetes Administrator and AWS Certified AI Practitioner, both current through February 2028, plus the Amazon EKS skill badge.
- Open source. kubernetes-readonly-mcp, an MCP server that lets AI agents inspect Kubernetes clusters without being able to change anything.
- Speaking. I talk at conferences and community events on Kubernetes, AWS, and agentic AI in production, including AWS Summit Zurich, AWS Community Day Nordics, and Microsoft AgentCon Helsinki. Most recently on Agent Skills at the Claude Code Meetup Helsinki. See the Speaking page.
- Building in the open. I keep up with GenAI and LLM development by shipping small apps, collected in the Projects section.
- Won the Amazon Q Coding Challenge.
- Nokia Full Stack Award in 2024, for delivering the platform on AWS.
