About
I am Vijay Kumar Kodam, a Principal Engineer in Cloud Technology at Nokia. I design and run production systems on AWS and Kubernetes, and I build production AI systems on top of them. I am authorized to work across the EU.
My work spans deep telecom engineering and cloud-native architecture. I started out building software for 2G CDMA systems, moved on to 3G 1x-EVDO RNC solutions, and then to deploying 4G and 5G Virtual Network Functions on Telco Cloud using AWS, containers, and Kubernetes. Today I lead the end-to-end architecture and migration of a Private 5G platform into AWS, built on Amazon EKS with Cassandra, Grafana, Prometheus, and containerized applications, covering cloud architecture, SRE, DevOps, GitOps, and systems design.
Focus areas
- Kubernetes and Amazon EKS. Building scalable, resilient, cloud-native platforms and running them in production.
- AWS cloud architecture and systems design. Leading end-to-end migrations and the operations that keep them healthy.
- Generative AI and agentic systems. Working hands-on with RAG, agents, MCP, and agentic coding CLIs, and shipping the results as small production apps.
